Excellent soaring today at Marion Airport. Three flights, two were private ships (Mark Martin and Dave Stevenson) that departed before 1pm and one was the 1-26 (Nick Hoffmann) that departed at 1:45pm. Mark stayed local while Dave set off for the wild blue yonder and was still up as of 4:30pm. Thermals were good under each of the cumulus clouds whose bases were at about 6000ft. 4-6kts of lift could reliably be found over the depot and the house thermal stayed active for hours. Nick Hoffmann set a new personal time record of 2hr 6min in the 1-26. Many thanks to Jared Granzow for towing today!
