The first proper soaring day of the season, and what a great day! Both 2-33s, the 1-26, the 1-34, the Cirrus, and both tow planes took advantage of the abundant lift which got going a little after noon. At one point there were 4 gliders circling in one thermal. Today was a “blue thermal” day with literally not a cloud in the sky. Scott brought two guests for rides. Many thanks to Mark and Mike for instructing in the morning and conducting BFRs, and thanks also to Bob, John, and Chris for towing. Also, many thanks to Bob for helping get the boom mike and speaker operational in the 1-26. I flew first with it and it’s a major improvement. Unfortunately, I accidentally hit the frequency switch by accident while adjusting the volume halfway through my flight and didn’t realize it thinking something was wrong with the new setup. It’s functioning very well, user error and lesson learned.
